01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled on the vibrant Via Etnea in the heart of Catania, Gran Caffè Pam Pam is a charming café that invites you to savor an authentic Sicilian coffee experience. This local favorite is a sanctuary for coffee lovers and those with a sweet tooth, where tradition and warmth blend seamlessly in every cup and bite.

From the moment you step inside, the cozy atmosphere envelops you—a place where locals, including the friendly neighborhood police, gather for a genuine taste of Catania’s café culture. The owner’s attentive welcome adds a personal touch, making every visit feel special, whether you’re popping in for a quick espresso or settling in for a leisurely breakfast.

The menu celebrates Sicilian specialties with standout delights like the creamy cappuccino, a perfect balance of rich espresso and velvety milk foam that leaves a lingering sense of comfort. Equally irresistible is their pistachio granita, a refreshing, icy treat bursting with the nutty essence of Sicily’s renowned pistachios, ideally paired with a soft, buttery brioche. The pastries aren’t just desserts—they are little moments of joy, from the delicate “Saint Agatha’s breasts” cake to round, cream-filled confections that melt in your mouth.

Guests often rave about the exceptional quality and authenticity of their offerings. Lucian Cismaru captures it best as “a perfect place for a coffee break and something sweet,” while JJ reflects the memorable nature of their Sicilian journey: “Literally the best cappuccino and pistachio croissant we had on our entire trip.” Even the fast and friendly service by the manager/owner, noted by Navin M, ensures you feel right at home.

Gran Caffè Pam Pam isn’t just a café — it’s a meaningful stop on your Catania itinerary where the sensory delight of expertly crafted coffee and traditional pastries infuses your day with Sicilian charm. Whether you're starting the morning or seeking a revitalizing afternoon pause, this café promises an authentic taste of local life that lingers warmly long after your cup is empty.

For anyone visiting Via Etnea or living nearby, Gran Caffè Pam Pam is more than just a coffee spot—it’s a heartfelt experience woven into the vibrant fabric of Catania.

Went two days for breakfast there, the manager/owner told how to order and took order fast. Cappuccino, granita Siciliana pistachio, one round cream filled thing (dont remember the name) and brioche for reasonable price! Local police eat there too:) recommend to people who live in the area

We wanted to have one last pastry & coffee experience before we left Sicily. However we couldn't find anyone open that early on Sunday morning even if Google shows they're open. We finally found this one on the main street, very close to our Airbnb as well. Literally the best cappuccino and pistachio croissant we had of our entire trip. The owner is friendly too.

Delicious granita with brioche! One should suffice for 2 adults. I had the chocolate and almond one. I liked the almond flavour better. The cake "Saint Agatha's breasts" was all about the style, but the favour is too sweet for most people. The only thing that we did not like was the african man who tried to do tourist scam with the bracelet on us here!!! He should not be allowed to bother the patrons. It is a waiters job to shoo those crooks away!

Perhaps a little pricy but plenty of options and everything is above average including the gelato. Perfect location not worth walking half a mile to find a whole in the wall. My perceptions was likewise locals frequent
